[News article from The Sun - Wednesday, January 12th.] Busted? - Boyband 'to split for good' - Miffed Charlie: I want out Boyband Busted are on the verge of splitting up for good. Frontman Charlie Simpson, 19, has made it clear to bandmates Matt Jay and James Bourne that he wants out. The trio have not spoken to each other since their last gig at Wembley three weeks ago. The group, together for two years, are now preparing a summit to discuss how to handle the break-up. Both Matt, 21, and James, also 21, are privately devastated at the news - and have begged Charlie to reconsider. But he is about to go on a two-month tour with his rock group Fightstar - and wants to quit. A source said: "Things are so bad between the boys at the moment that they all realise a split is inevitable." "Charlie has never really hung out with Matt and James. None of them are close, you have to remember the band were put together." "The rift between Charlie and the others is so bad now that they realise it's over." Busted shot to fame in September 2002 with What I Go To School For which got to number 3. They had seven more top three singles, including Crashed The Wedding, Air Hostess and You Said No. It will be the latest in a long line of boyband splits, among them Take That, Boyzone, Five, East 17 and One True Voice. Last night a spokesman for Busted insisted: "Charlie is doing Fightstar, Busted will reconvene in due course." Looks like it good be true then. And Kirsteh said it was GMTV and the news - I don't think it's a load of bull now people.  |

No he's not leaving, not in your world anyway, you're only saying he isn't leaving because that's what you want to hear. I think everyone knows, eventually Charlie will leave, there's no denying it. Lesley, you are GOD.  She has the best point and I totally agree. You don't want to believe it because you're afraid to let what you truly think be told. |

The official statement is Charlie is doing Fightstar at the moment and Busted will reconvene in due course.

reconvene - like resuming doesnt mean they have split - just that Charlie is off doing his Fight Star, James and Matt doing their thing and then they will meet up again and take it from where they left off.  |

[glow=red,2,300]if you think about it, charlie going off and doing fighstar will most probably make him realise how much he will miss being in busted and come back!! not that he left! lol!
i fort that we all knew he was taking sum time out to do fightstar stuff?? well i did anyway!! think of it as destinys child!! look what they did!!
well thats my theory anyway!! i think that he has had too much of a gud thing, although how can u have too much busted?
if we let him go, he will soon relaise that fans will only want to see and hear fightstar because of the word that CHARLIE form busted or, its charlie from busted other band!!
i dnt think that he will beable to get rid of the busted name, because that what he will always been known as "charlie from busted"
